5/1/2014: The MSC folder is now open for submissions! Good luck!
Hello all!
Rough winds are shaking the darling buds of May...you know what that means.
It's time for another fortnight of sonnet forms to test your mettle. We have both returning members from last year's FSC, as well as some really cool new one sonnets, including one created by our very own Nichrysalis!
The format of the challenge is simple. Every day, you're given a sonnet form to write in from the form chart. An explanation of the form as well as an example is given for you each day to help you understand the form and its requirements. There are no prompts, but May is a month full of many inspirations as spring fades into summer!
If for some reason you can't open the PDF file, you can access a word document version from my Dropbox instead: www.dropbox.com/s/2v2iwmqqc6s4…
I will open up an MSC 2014 folder for you to submit your entries to, for your reading pleasure. After the challenge is done, I will copy submissions to their respective form folders. Keep on schedule as best as you can, but I'll keep submissions open for the whole month of May if you fall behind or you decide to give it a second run!
Speaking of second runs, if you really liked the first two weeks and want to do more, feel free to follow last year's February Sonnet Challenge from the 15th to the 29th. fav.me/d5sigqp
If you're interested in participating, leave a reply here or note me! Of course, your participation isn't binding; I would just like to see who's interested.
Spread the word! And write on!

FSC Features!
Well, the crowns have finally come in, so I'm proud to feature them! We had three entries this time around, one Rainis crown and two Heroic crowns!
Major props to MagicalJoey (https://www.deviantart.com/magicaljoey), who completed two crowns.
The Rainis Crown:

As per group rules, all crowns are displayed in the Featured folder! I hope you enjoy reading them.
FSC 2016: Official Thread
This year, the challenge will require you to write a crown of sonnets.
A crown of sonnets is a set of sonnets written about a common theme. Each individual sonnet ends with the first line of the next sonnet, and the last sonnet ends with the first line of the first sonnet, creating a loop.
This year, we will have three levels of varying length and difficulty. I realize that February is a rather popular time for challenges and contests (like ProjectDFC (https://www.deviantart.com/projectdfc)’s very own February Form Fiesta), so we’ll have a short one that can be completed in 9 days. The others can be completed in 14 days or 15 days. We'll also have some small priz
February Sonnet Challenge 2016 coming soon!
Hi everyone! Hope everyone is excited for another year of great poetry, especially sonnets!
If you feel sufficiently recuperated from ProjectDFC (https://www.deviantart.com/projectdfc), we have another poetry challenge coming your way. February Sonnet Challenge (FSC 2016), your favorite two-week long challenge, is coming back from February 1-14 (just in time for Valentine's!) with perhaps the most difficult challenge we've assigned yet.
In the past, we've explored many different types of sonnets, from the classic Petrarchan and Shakespearean forms, to more esoteric ones like the Blues, Curtal, and many other types. These challenges were laid out with style guides very simila
Project DFC is here, Sonneteers!
Hey all,
LaBruyere (https://www.deviantart.com/labruyere) here.
Sorry for the absence. Been finishing my M.A. and also participating in NaNoWriMo 2015! Finished an hour ago.
The exciting news is that it's time to jump into another December Form Challenge!
Our affiliates over at ProjectDFC (https://www.deviantart.com/projectdfc) have been hard at work to craft a new challenge for 2015, and we want you to join in as well. I personally have participated several times, and I promise you it is great for flexing those fixed form muscles.
Here's the info you need: http://fav.me/d9g8gxm
Happy Writing!
